Interpals is a leading platform for making friends from around the world for language practice, travel and cultural exchange. It currently has over 5 million active users and we will soon be launching a new version of the site and app that will introduce fun new features and an improved user experience.

Our small and friendly team is seeking an experienced SEO specialist who is fanatical about driving traffic and improving our rankings and who has a genuine passion about our mission to connect people around the world.

The role

• Plan and implement an SEO strategy that best suits our goals
• Monitor analytics, provide reports and continually adjust our strategy
• Drive measurable increase in traffic to our website/apps, landing pages and social media while boosting our user acquisition and engagement.

Some of the things you'll do

• Perform keyword research, identify the best way to reach our target audiences and demographics.
• Analyze competitors including products, keywords, blog posts/topics, landing pages, social media activity, etc.
• Develop an SEO strategy to increase our site visibility
• Work with content authors and copyrighters to improve content quality and increase rankings
• Work with frontend developers to follow SEO best practices and educate them on what they can do to improve our rankings.
• Monitor analytics and follow KPIs (search position, traffic, conversions, etc.)
• Provide regular reports to management showing progress and based on analytics.
• Collaborate with Marketing/SMM manager to unify strategy across channels

What you’ll bring

• Proven track record of impressive results in previous SEO positions (3+ years), with experience managing SEO content strategy for a large global website.
• Extensive knowledge of current search engine ranking factors and industry best practices
• Thorough knowledge of basic SEO concepts (keyword research, user intent, crawlability, mobile-friendly, page speed, etc.)
• Understanding of technical SEO concepts such as content optimization, XML sitemaps, structured data, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, information architecture, & a strong developer/I.T. understanding
• Experience managing complex SEO content initiatives including content strategy, development, implementation, testing, and measurement.
• Experience using enterprise SEO tools such as Google Webmaster Tools, Yandex Metrics, Moz, seoClarity, ScreamingFrog, Botify, Etc.
• Passion for language learning, travel, communication with people around the world.
• Strong written English and Russian skills, more languages are a plus!
• Responsibility, self-drive and excellent communication skills
• Excellent project and time management skills

What it’s like working at Interpals

• We’re a small team of 6, all remote and based in the USA, Russia, Ukraine and the Philippines. В команде общаемся преимущественно на русском :)
• Hours are flexible (this is a full time position, but you can choose what hours work best for you) and salary is fixed in USD.
• When there’s no pandemic, we like to get together for a week of co-working and getting to know each other face-to-face once or twice a year.
