We are looking for a Patent Specialist to support our Legal and R&D teams and facilitate identification, disclosure and patenting of inventions created by the company

Primary tasks

• Conducting patent searches: searches in specific areas, freedom-to-operate searches, patentability searches.
• Supporting inventors in identification of patentable inventions and preparing invention disclosure materials.
• Advising on whether patenting of particular innovations fits the company’s strategy
• Preparing patent applications
• Preparing responses to patent office actions, interacting with patent attorneys in Europe, USA and China.

Required knowledge and skills

• Higher education in technics or technology; additional education as a Patent Specialist is an advantage
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role; experience in the field of optics is an advantage
• Experience in usage of Patentscope, Espacenet, USPTO patent databases
• Understanding of the basic principles of patent law
• Experience in filing patent applications
• Understanding of R&D process
• English language at the level of intermediate, including technical terminology
