KAZ Minerals Russia is looking for potential candidates for the position of Data Administrator.

Structural division: Mining / Resource Geology Section / Exploration and Development Division

Report to: Senior Quality Assurance & Control Geologist

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Information Technology, Programming, Geology;
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (preferably, in the production/mining industry);
Understanding of mining industry preferred, but not necessary;
Programming skills: required - Microsoft SQL Server (advantageous - Python, VBA or R);
Professional MS Office;
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – e.g. ArcGIS, MapInfo;
Geological Database systems: Geobank, Datashed;
English - Intermediate;
Open to learning about the stages of exploration and mining geology and sample management;
Readiness for relocation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and support the establishment and maintenance of data collection and reporting systems for the Exploration and Development Division;
Assume responsibility for data gathering, collation and data processing automation and reporting tasks for a geology and drilling database;
Collect, blend and transform data using ETL tools, database management and code including SQL and Python; create automated quality checks; optimize data processing;
Communicate with operational mine and IT personnel to enable effective use of data collection and reporting systems;
Evaluate existing database design to determine necessary updates and integration requirements of new design and ensure quality data;
Design and develop scripts, databases, dashboards to deliver analytics solution to resolve specific client problems;
Work closely with Geologists and contractors facilitating electronic capture of quality data;
Under the guidance of the Senior QAQC Geologist perform all necessary tasks of the Organization in coordination with the staff of the Exploration and Development Division of the Mining Department of the Organization.
